Fractional CIO Executive Assessment

A fixed three-week review of the technology agenda for a CEO, board, or investor who needs an independent executive view — not a tool inventory.

Eight domains

Each domain is reviewed from the executive seat: what is in place, what is assumed, and what would matter if the company grew, commercialized, or entered a transaction. The assessment is not a penetration test, a certified audit, or a software implementation.

  1. 01

    Technology strategy and governance

How technology decisions are made, who owns them, and whether the agenda matches the business plan.

  2. 02

    Cybersecurity and risk management

Executive exposure across identity, vendors, data, and the way risk is reported. Not a penetration test.

  3. 03

    Infrastructure and business continuity

Whether core systems and recovery arrangements can survive a disruption the business would actually feel.

  4. 04

    Enterprise applications

The systems the company runs on, where they overlap, and which ones will not support the next stage.

  5. 05

    Data management and AI readiness

Data ownership, quality, access, and whether proposed AI uses have a factual basis.

  6. 06

    IT operations and vendor management

How work gets done, which providers are critical, and where accountability is unclear.

  7. 07

    Technology financial management

Spend, contracts, and the investment cases leadership is being asked to believe.

  8. 08

    Organizational readiness and scalability

The team, the operating model, and the gaps that appear when the company grows or commercializes.

Three weeks

  1. Week 1

    Discovery

Interviews with the executive team and key operators, plus a review of the documents that actually govern technology: budgets, contracts, policies, org charts, and recent incidents or audits.

  2. Week 2

    Analysis

The eight domains are scored, risks are ranked, and the gaps that matter to this company are separated from generic best practice.

  3. Week 3

    Recommendations

The report, scorecard, risk register, 90-day plan, and 12-month roadmap are presented to leadership in a working session, not as a document drop.

Use the assessment to decide what happens next.

The consultation confirms fit, access to the right people, and whether three weeks is the right scope.
